Family Group Success in Wayne County

JusticeWorks received the “Smith” case as an emergency Family Group Decision Making referral. Two of the children were removed from their mother and placed temporarily with the maternal grandparents who were already raising the other sibling. The children’s father was incarcerated at the time of referral. The purpose of the meeting was to identify kinship and family supports for the children. When Tenisha Burke first met with the family, the mother was paranoid, had trust issues, and had a negative outlook on life. The children were very shy and did not speak to Tenisha unless the mother directed them to do so. Chester County Children, Youth, & Family Services Awards JusticeWorks FGDM contract!

Recently, Renee Kresge, Regional Director and Dipesh Chauhan, Director Business Development,  defended a request for proposal from Chester County CYFS for Family Group Decision Making.  They highlighted JusticeWorks’ successful outcomes using FGDM and Family Finding in other counties.  Soon thereafter, JusticeWorks was awarded the contract.  Chester County’s review panel noted that JusticeWorks’ program exemplifies the ‘best practices’ fidelity measures for Family Group Decision Making.  JusticeWorks will now be providing FGDM to 16 agencies in 11 counties.
