Indiana County, IL Making a Difference!
“Innovative and Unique” are a few terms that were used by The State Department of Human Services within their flowingly positive review of our Indiana Branch Independent Living program. The review included that we experienced despite a budget drop last year, nonetheless, our Indiana, IL team persevered and excelled. This same team a few years ago was awarded as the Statewide Independent Living Provider of the Year. Their winning ways continue on. The reviewers not only noted that our team was innovative and unique, but they also spoke highly on how we were about to adapt, change, and...
Happy Fourth of July!
Today America celebrates 245 years of Independence. America has a long and storied history and more than anything is known and respected for the continued effort to make “a more perfect union”. There are undoubtedly parts of our history which tarnish the founding principle that “all men are created equal”, but it is to the country’s enduring credit that they have been acknowledged and work continues to build a just and equitable community filled with opportunity for all. Paying it Forward!
A few years ago, Phyllis Wood, one of our successful Independent Living Youth, told the following story: “At sixteen, success was not something I could imagine until I completed the JusticeWorks IL program. I am now twenty, and the things I have accomplished due to the caring staff of JusticeWorks have shaped me into the young woman that I never knew I could be. I have a high school diploma, beat homelessness, and attend college. I also obtained employment with JusticeWorks!” Well, we have some exciting news to share! Phyllis graduated this past weekend from Westmoreland Community...
JusticeWorks’ Butler County Staff Applauded for Leadership!
At JusticeWorks, we believe that collaborative efforts decrease the burdens of involved youth by optimizing their care and increasing access to services, resources, supports, and overall wellbeing. Collaboration with other agencies and educational institutions allows for different perspectives, training backgrounds, knowledge, and expertise to promote more coordinated and effective services. Collaboration efforts are often easier said than done when diplomatic relationships and informed communication are required during intense and time-sensitive situations. Despite the challenges, JWYC...
