We are delighted to announce that Dan Heit, our President & CEO, has been nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award. Dan was a finalist for this prestigious award in 2013. This selection is a testament to Dan’s exceptional leadership, innovation, financial prowess, social responsibility, and profound commitment to business and community.

In 1999, Dan Heit founded JusticeWorks YouthCare in Pittsburgh, PA, leveraging his distinguished leadership career and national recognition as an expert in Human Service programming. Over the years, Dan has consistently demonstrated leadership in developing and managing innovative programs for troubled youth.

Dan’s illustrious career includes two terms as President of Therapeutic Communities of America, an appointment by President George H.W. Bush to a Presidential Commission for Model State Drug Laws, and service on President Bill Clinton’s behavioral health subcommittee for healthcare reform. His dedication to the field was further emphasized by his recent appointment to the Child Welfare Finance Reform Task Force by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

JusticeWorks YouthCare, which began with a single contract from Lehigh County Probation in Pennsylvania, has grown continuously under Dan’s leadership. JusticeWorks now serves child welfare; juvenile probation; educational; and adult corrections agencies across more than 125 counties throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, South Carolina, Colorado, Maryland, Florida, and soon Nevada and Delaware.

Dan’s commitment extends beyond his professional endeavors, as he actively participates in various community organizations, demonstrating his dedication to making a positive impact. JusticeWorks, as a company is devoted to enhancing positive social development. Moreover, Dan is a devoted father and grandfather.
