In the realm of child welfare, providing effective support to caseworkers is crucial for ensuring the well-being of children and families in need. Adams County Children and Youth Services (ACCYS) joined forces with JusticeWorks to develop a program enhancing caseworkers’ engagement skills. This collaboration led to the Caseworker Field Coach Program, which assigns caseworkers to dedicated field coaches. These field coaches play a pivotal role in building a solid rapport with caseworkers, fostering their professional development, and supporting them in achieving agency and personal goals.

In April, JusticeWorks Program Director Sean Lazarus, and Caseworker Field Coach, Amanda Wagner, had the opportunity to present this innovative program at the prestigious Child Welfare League of America’s (CWLA) National Conference in Washington D.C.! Titled, Put Me In Coach: Strengthening the Frontline through the Caseworker Field Coach Program, their presentation provided information about the field coach program, its inception, and its benefits. The presentation explored how the field coach program benefits caseworkers individually and agencies via individual sessions in the field, self-assessment exercises, coaching questions, group work, and more. Sean and Amanda shared their experiences and successes, inspiring others in the field to adopt similar programs.

As we continue to prioritize the well-being of caseworkers, JusticeWorks paves the way for a brighter future for the children and families who rely on the support of child welfare services. Thank you to CWLA for allowing us to share one of our innovative programs on the National stage!
