Family Resource Specialist, Brittany Marshall and our Armstrong County staff were praised by the Apollo-Ridge High School Principal for their efforts in truancy prevention.  Thank you, Brittany and our Armstrong County staff, for doing ‘whatever it takes’ to help students succeed.   We also thank Mr. Dan Consuegra, Principal of Apollo-Ridge, for the following heartfelt letter:

To Whom It May Concern:

I wanted to take a moment to recognize the efforts of Justice Works in the Armstrong County Area. Student attendance is a very challenging aspect of school administration and in the cases in which Justice Works has been a part of our Truancy Plan, they have done an excellent job.

As the principal of Apollo-Ridge High School I am very well aware that there are some students who are apathetic towards education and many times that is a household approach. In the past few weeks alone, I have worked with one specific Justice Works employee, Brittney, who has gone well beyond the call of duty. She has done an excellent job of keeping constant communication with the family and myself. Because of her efforts the students has made a drastic improvement in his attendance.

This is a very challenging position for Justice Works as many times they are trying to change an ingrained behavior. My definition of success for Justice Works is growth and I have seen growth in many of the students they work \ with. I truly appreciate their efforts and hope to continue working with them on our more challenging cases.

Yours in Education,
Dan Consuegra
