JusticeWorks YouthCare was awarded a contract by Hamilton County Department of Jobs and Family Services (HCFJS) to provide supervised visitation services, a.k.a. Visit Coaching, to Hamilton County families and children.

HCFJS is seeking additional support for visitation services because of the growing numbers of families and children it serves. Last year, the county served more than 17,000 children and saw more than 3,500 children come into custody. Hamilton County believes visitation services can be key components to strengthening and reunifying families, and expects its partnership with JusticeWorks YouthCare to yield successful results. JusticeWorks YouthCare is a long standing provider of community-based programming to youth and families since 1999, and is prepared to expand services in the state of Ohio.

“JusticeWorks is excited to extend a qualified reunification program in Ohio and we are looking forward to building a partnership with Hamilton County Department of Jobs and Family Services and with the families it serves,” according to Dipesh Chauhan, Director of Business Development at JusticeWorks YouthCare.

Supervised Visitation supports families that are involved in the children’s services system and are temporarily separated. Often times, supervision and support may be necessary to ensure effective parent-child visits. These services allow parents to experience parent-child contact while a professional facilitates the development of sustainable parenting skills in order to increase parental confidence and competence.

The goal of supervised visitation is to reduce risk and promote protective factors leading to successful reunification and permanency for children who are in out-of-home care. Through this approach, families have been shown to reunify faster and children stay safer, while reporting being satisfied with the quality of care provided.

JusticeWorks is currently hiring qualified staff to fill the positions needed to support the program. For job postings and additional information about JusticeWorks YouthCare, please visit www.justiceworksoh.com.
