We are thrilled to announce that JusticeWorks (Butler County) has been selected as the recipient of the prestigious 2023 Annual Older Youth Services Agency of the Year Award. This honor was bestowed upon the agency based on nominations from the youth and alums who received JusticeWorks services. The nomination emphasized the agency’s exceptional efforts in going above and beyond for older youth, assisting them in identifying and working toward their goals, and making a positive impact on their lives.

This prestigious award reflects the agency’s unwavering commitment to successfully transitioning older youth into adulthood. The agency’s dedication to helping youth in and beyond Pennsylvania’s foster care system has been acknowledged and appreciated by the youth it serves. JusticeWorks has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the unique challenges older youth face in the foster care system and has implemented effective strategies to address these challenges.

The Older Youth Retreat Steering Committee, composed of youth and alums of the child welfare system, organizes an annual retreat at the University of Pittsburgh’s Johnstown Campus. The committee recognized the significance of acknowledging an agency that positively impacts the lives of older youth in or transitioning out of the foster care system. Through their selection process, the committee was impressed by JusticeWorks’ dedication and commitment to empowering older youth and facilitating their successful transition into adulthood.
