Earlier this week Alyson Riedel, FRS Supervisor in York County, was contacted by York County Children and Youth requesting assistance with an emergency removal of six children from a home. Alyson and Sean Lazarus, FRS Supervisor in York County, responded to the home alongside the caseworker, her supervisor and York City Police.  Alyson and Sean successfully assisted in transitioning the children from an unsafe home and transporting them to several different emergency care homes.

Though removal from the home is not the ideal outcome, this was an exception due to the deplorable conditions of the home and safety concerns regarding the parents. Alyson and Sean used their experience in crisis situations to work alongside the police and Children and Youth to ensure the safety of six children.

The following day the OCYF supervisor followed up with this message:

Hi,

I just wanted to give you all a HUGE HUGE thanks.  We wouldn’t have been able to pull it off yesterday without your help.  We owe you all big time.  It is very stressful in situations like that and the two of you rocked it-almost like you should be CYF employees (just kidding Hilary!)

But seriously, we appreciate all your help.

Thanks again,

Kerry

Great job Alyson and Sean in continuing to strengthen the relationship between JWYC and CYF, and showing excellent crisis management skills.
