Krista Godek, our Executive Director of JusticeWorks BehavioralCare, has been selected as a 2020 Forty Under 40 winner by the Charleston Regional Business Journal and was nominated by members of the Charleston community. 2020 marks the 23rd anniversary of the Forty Under 40 awards.
Since 1998, this elite 40 has been comprised of people under 40 years of age who have excelled in the professional arena and community involvement. We continue to be amazed at the number of individuals who are nominated each year and the quality work and commitment they bring to the Charleston community.
A panel of judges determined who among the nominees would be named to the 2020 class of Forty Under 40. This group of 40 individuals will be recognized at our Forty Under 40 event on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.
Krista’s selection was in part due to her enthusiastic approach to supporting the families and youth served by JusticeWorks BehavioralCare. Krista has been with JusticeWorks since 2014 and has served as Executive Director since March 2018. Since that time, JWBC has experienced an expansion in core services such as trauma-focused therapy, which has met a substantial need for children and families. Krista has worked with community partners to develop services such as the Family and Parenting Assessment. She has worked with trainers in Pennsylvania to bring the evidence-based program, Nurturing Parenting, to South Carolina!
In her tenure, the average number of families served has increased from 350 to over 700 across the state. She has also pursued an outpatient clinic to compliment the already successful in-home services, thus providing the opportunity for clients and families to choose an option for services. Krista continues to work closely with the Department of Social Services. In partnership, she is currently developing a visitation observation tool that will supplement the Family and Parenting Assessment, with the overall goal to keep families together in South Carolina!
Please join the JusticeWorks Family in congratulating Krista on her fantastic achievement! We are proud of the work you have done to support the families of South Carolina!
