Most importantly, they ‘walk the walk’ when it comes to doing whatever it takes to help youth and families succeed.

Dan Heit, Founder

JusticeWorks’ Founder

Dan Heit founded JusticeWorks YouthCare in Pittsburgh, PA in 1999 after a distinguished leadership career spanning more than 20 years. A nationally recognized expert in behavioral health programs, he has been acknowledged as a leader in developing and managing innovative programs for troubled youth.

He was appointed by President George H.W. Bush to serve on a 24 member Presidential Commission for model legislation and, as president of a national trade organization, met with President Clinton and served on subcommittees for health care reform. He was a founding member of The National Alliance for Model State Drug Laws and served two terms as President of the Therapeutic Communities of America. He is active in his community and serves a number of community organizations.

Nicole has extensive clinical experience providing home-based services to troubled youth and families. She is an entrepreneur who co-founded a renowned health & wellness center. As the first Director of Lehigh’s STOPP program, she led our team to achieve 100% positive outcomes! Now, with responsibilities for all programs in Berks, Chester, Lehigh, Northampton and York Counties, she is the driving high energy force managing JusticeWorks’ growth and continued high quality.

 

Dipesh Chauhan, Program Director, Berks County

Director of Program Development

Dipesh has a depth of experience as a clinician, planner, manager, trainer and educator. He has worked in specialized services for adolescents and adults including criminal justice, drug & alcohol treatment and mental health. He has expertise in residential and home-based services and has taught at a local college. As our first Director for Berks County, Dipesh led our CYS and JPO programs to dramatic growth and stellar outcomes.

Now, as Director of Quality Assurance & Program Development, Dipesh works with all counties to make sure our programs are ‘best in class’ and we continually evolve to meet the needs of our county partners as well as youth and families in our care. He works to identify and introduce new approaches and technologies which enhance our services. Dipesh also presents our capabilities to new areas and helps JusticeWorks extend its reach to other locations.

John Kokales, Controller

Controller

John has been a business owner and has extensive experience as a tax account and controller in a variety of health service and other industries. He was an agent for the Internal Revenue Service. John is involved in his community as the director of his church youth group and a coach for the local athletic organization. . He is responsible for all of the finance and human resources functions at JusticeWorks.

Keycha has had a varied career devoted to helping adolescents and adults overcome profound challenges. She has worked as a clinician, teacher and Quality Assurance Director in residential and outpatient programs providing drug and alcohol treatment, foster care, mental health, recreation and mentoring.

As Director of our Philadelphia Reintegration Program, Keycha has successfully led our Philadelphia team to achieve dramatic reductions in recidivism and positive engagement in the community for chronic delinquent youth.

Renee Kresge, Program Director Lehigh & Northampton Counties

Renee is a native of the Lehigh Valley who graduated from Penn State with a degree in Human Development & Family Studies. Renee has more than 10 years experience providing and managing family-based services. Starting as a clinician, she has successfully adapted to the complex role of Program Director, balancing quality assurance of services, developing community resources, training, stakeholder relations and overall management. Renee’s committed leadership manages our programs in Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, Wayne and Pike Counties.

Dave Baker, M.Ed.

Regional Director, West & Alternative Education Director

Dave began his career as a teacher in a long-term residential facility for delinquent teens. His dedication and talent resulted in continuous career growth to ultimately become Director of Operations for 11 alternative schools in 4 states.

He has never wavered in his commitment to help all students find ways of succeeding in school, identify themselves as capable of learning and become life-long learners. His management and supervisory style incorporates the same balance of support and insistence on achieving high goals. Dave’s eclectic talents and experience provides leadership to our programs in Dauphin, York, Washington and Westmoreland Counties as well as catalyze development of our Alternative Education Division.

Regional Director, Southeast PA

Marc has extensive experience as a clinician and manager in private agencies and as an Intake Supervisor for Berks County Office of Children & Youth Services. He is active in many associations, serves on the State Board for Family Group Decision Making and is pursuing a second Master’s Degree.

As Program Director, he works tirelessly to make sure we meet the needs of youth and families in our care and that we are responsive partners to CYS and Juvenile Probation in Berks County. His staff routinely comment that ‘he never asks us to do anything he won’t do’ and leads by example.

Errone has worked the past 9 years for Washington County CYS, as a Caseworker and then a highly respected Supervisor. Previously, she had experience working with programs serving adults with developmental disabilities and a residential facility for delinquent youth. Errone’s knowledge of the community, understanding of CYS, and calm, supportive management style give our Washington programs the leadership to excel

Theresa’s career started as a kindergarten teacher and her devotion to helping children grow safely and fulfill their potential led her to become a Therapeutic Staff Support worker for various in-home service providers. For six years she was a County Caseworker for Wayne County Children & Youth Services, specializing in Child Abuse and Neglect Cases. For the past several years, Theresa has brought her talents, experience and commitment to JusticeWorks’ Pike County programs as a Family Resource Specialist, Team Leader and now leads our CYS and Probation Programs as our Program Director. She is devoted to providing highest quality services to the benefit of children and families and the community.

Rob’s career started a Juvenile Probation Officer in Dauphin County. He went on to be Student & Family Services Specialist for a public school system and then a Program Director for a private provider for Educational and Community Services. Rob manages our CYS programs and Family Group Conferencing in Dauphin County and brings to bear a thorough understanding of the needs of our clients, the realities and resources in the community and a commitment to achieve a partnership of excellence with our customers and stakeholders.

Carrie earned her Masters Degree from Indiana University and has been working in the field ever since. After only a few years as a Caseworker for Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau, her skills were recognized in a promotion to Assessment Caseworker Supervisor. Initially our Assistant Director, Carrie has demonstrated superb organizational skills, an understanding of the needs of our stakeholders, a profound commitment to our clients and creating a positive work environment. She has also proven to be an adept marketer as adjacent Counties are contracting for JusticeWorks.

Brian has had a multi-faceted career in the public and private youth serving world. He has worked in juvenile detention, was a public school football coach, counselor for private agencies, and a Caseworker for Child Welfare. He joined JusticeWorks’ Lehigh County branch as a Family Resource Specialist and quickly was promoted to a Supervisor. His work in Carbon County earned the respect and appreciation of our stakeholders there and the explosive growth of a full continuum of services. He will manage our still expanding repertoire there with an unyielding commitment to JWYC being their highest quality provider.

Hilary joined the JusticeWorks team in November of 2007 at the start-up of the York County program. Several years of working in residential and outpatient settings showed her the need to provide quality care to families in home. A graduate of Temple University with a Masters in Social Work, Hilary brings an intensive clinical outlook to the JusticeWorks program. She was promoted from Family Resource Specialist to Assistant Director before becoming the Program Director. York County continues to grow, now servicing Children and Youth and Juvenile Probation, and Hilary is excited to challenge herself and her team further to break new grounds and offer additional services.
